Deakin university scholarship Benefits:

The HDR RTP Scholarship, also known as the DUPR Scholarship, encompasses a comprehensive support package designed to enrich students’ academic journeys. In 2024, this scholarship offers a tax-exempt stipend of $30,000 annually, allowing students to focus on their research without financial worries. For those relocating to Deakin University from other regions or countries for their studies, there’s a relocation allowance ranging from $500 to $1,500, acknowledging the challenges of moving and aiming to facilitate a smooth transition.

International students, in particular, enjoy the benefit of a Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy throughout their student visa duration, ensuring access to essential healthcare services.

The duration of these scholarships varies depending on the pursued degree:

  • For Doctoral Degree students, the scholarship covers stipends for 3 years and tuition fees offset for 4 years.
  • For those pursuing a Research Master’s Degree, the stipend is available for 2 years, with tuition fees offset for the same duration.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for an RTP Stipend, RTP Fees Offset, RTP Allowance, or DUPRS, students must be enrolled in an HDR program at Deakin University, regardless of their nationality. If pursuing an RTP Fees Offset, it’s essential not to hold a corresponding award or scholarship from the Commonwealth intended to cover HDR fees. Aspiring recipients of an RTP or DUPRS Stipend should not already be receiving income from another source to cover general living expenses during their course of study.

It’s worth noting that each student is entitled to one Aston Scholarship or discount for their enrolled program, with the recognition that distinct selection criteria may apply to individual programs. As applicants consider these opportunities, it’s advised to take into account the specific requirements outlined for each program.
