Scholarship benefits

The scholarship is granted to students who exhibit outstanding academic achievements. To qualify, you must be a self-funded student who has recently enrolled at the University of Leeds, beginning at Level 1, and categorized as an international student for tuition fee purposes. The scholarship offers financial support of up to £5,000.





Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

  • You must be a self-funding international student who is new to the University of Leeds and entering at Level 1.
  • You should not be currently receiving any other awards from the University of Leeds.
  • Students who have successfully completed the International Foundation Year (IFY) at the University of Leeds and are self-funding will also be considered for the scholarship.
  • In order to be eligible, you need to have received an offer to pursue an undergraduate degree program within the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds for the academic year 2023/24.

The scholarship offers a maximum value of £5,000, with £3,000 awarded in the first year and £1,000 in subsequent years, subject to maintaining satisfactory performance. To qualify for the annual £1,000 award, you must achieve a yearly attainment percentage of 60% or above, with all modules passed on the first attempt. If you fail to meet the 60% requirement in a given year, the scholarship will be withheld; however, if your performance improves to 60% or above the following year, the scholarship will be reinstated.

Please note that the scholarship does not apply during the industrial placement year or study abroad year.
